Sorry to post this, but I felt the need to ask.

What is different between the productions in terms of special effects/lighting. I'm aware that the lighting in "No Good Deed" is drastically different, but are there any other differences? Also, what color does the backround curtain turn to at the end of "Defying Gravity"?

Thank you.

There are a few changes as I recall.
First u no on Broadway durin the Witch Hunters scene, there's a balcony for Morrible and Glinda on stage left but in London, its a stairway instead. The stairway is also used for exits like for Fiyero midway 'Couldn't Be Happier'.
There are also use of projections. During end of 'No One Mourns The Wicked' there's a projection of the shaddow of Elphaba making the witchy pose (hard to explain) which is really cool. And the scene has changed abit as well.
During ballroom scene and wicked witch of the east scene, there are 2 REALLY nice chandeliers which I don't think is in the Broadway productions.
The biggest surprise for me is during One Short Day! Since Apollo Victoria Theate use to be a cinema, they have these nig lights at the sides of teh walls which shine up to the ceilings. And during the scene they suddenly turn on into green light which was SO cool cuz I actually feel like Im in Emerald City.
There are some new lightings as well such as some spot lights with purple, white and blue diamonds on which is very oftenly used during 'No Good Deed' which are quite disgusting!
And the theatre's got green carpets, green lights, special witch or princess cocktails, pink and green soap in toilets...etc
But I do think that the choreography somehow looked VERY messy during the Ozdust ballroom scene!

That is in the Broadway production...

Right...ones that haven't been mentioned...

There's a CGI Green Witch in place of the hat in the opening. It shows Elphaba essentially melting, looks quite cool.

There's also a new scene just before Dancing Through Life where Fiyero almost runs over Elphaba and they have an exchange which ends in 'Well perhaps he saw green and thought it meant go'. The line 'Who in Oz's name is that' when Elphaba enters the ballroom has been cut due to that.

Certain words have been changed to the 'British' counterparts. It's now 'Term' instead of 'Semester' and 'Uni' instead of 'College'.

Popular - the line is now 'How to do your hair' instead of 'fix'.

There's a theme added that I don't think is in the US productions which is getting you heart's desire. The Wizard promises Elphaba that he will give her what her heart truely desires twice, once meaning popularity and once meaning Fiyero. Wonderful is cut short a bit and a litle bit is added at the end...After the Wizard releases the Monkeys for Elphaba and she finds Dillamond, she screams 'Do you want to know what my heart desires? To fight you until THE DAY I DIE!'

Wicked Witch of the East has been changed too, with Boq's line 'That ball that's being staged, anouncing Glinda is engaged' now has 'to Fiyero' added on the end. At the end of the scene where Elphaba tells Nessa she's off to the Emerald city to save the Monkeys as it's her fault they're suffering, Nessa calls her bluff and says she's going back for Fiyero but it's too late.

There are more but it's late and I need some sleep...
