I've been waiting patiently for this one since I discovered the show while watching the 2002 Tony Awards.

I e-mailed the publishing company a few months ago, and they said this was to be released August 2004.

Anyone know an exact date?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I think the music is too crappy to release it. I have a friend who also hates URINETOWN and said the same thing so it must be true.

Urinetown has a great score. I can't wait for the songbook either.

TWO people hate it?!?! Well then, it must suck! Dear lord, TWO? How did it stay on Broadway that long?!?!

I'm a big fan of sarcasm.

I saw URINETOWN three times....Wonderful Score, hilarious book, brilliant cast!! It was a delightful departure from the growing amount of manufactured bland children's fare posing as Broadway musicals today.....I'm sure the majority in those audiences "hated" URINETOWN as well. At least I hope so..........."Go directly to "Mamma Mia". Don't pass go and don't collect $200.00!"

"But Officier Lockstock, what are we going to do once the show closes?"
"Well...some of us will join the cast of Mamma Mia."
"You mean get out of acting all together??!!"
Yeah, the Tony voters really hated Urinetown too. Wait, Mr.Kotis, where did you get that statuette? Updated On: 8/2/04 at 12:29 AM

I think that was from one of the Easter Bonnett or Gypsy of the Year sketches.
