I absolutely LOVE what she said about stage acting being more hard than film. What a bold, brave comment to make!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I really liked what she said too. She's showing a lot of respect to stage performers and I hope she gets to do the movie without being dubbed. They haven't gotten to that point yet but since they haven't recommended someone dub her that has got to be a good sign. I really respect Uma as an actress and it seems she's very excited about this. I'm excited for her.

I was watching a tape of the 2004 Tony Awards and could not help but notice how stiff Nicole Kidman was, even when her sister and the rest of the audience were cracking up at Hugh's Peter Allen antics. She was also introduced as "performing in the new movie version of The Producers." This was early June '04.

That's my way of saying I think Uma will be a big improvement over Nicole, especially because she has a sense of humor about her and is a fabulous actress, as shown to dazzling effect in "Kill Bill v.1", which seems to be popping up on cable of late.

if she does get dubbed i do hope the get someone other than cady to dub her- one of the b'way replacements is fine but will ferrel is not enough to inspire me to purchase the movie soundtrack.

Maybe they'll pull a West Side Story on Uma, and just not tell her its being dubbed. Doubtful, tho.
