re: Under the Sea

im putting my hopes up for kerry for the role of ariel, jenna leigh or michelle federer would make a great vanessa and carole shelley could pull it off as ursula. apparantly ursula is supposed to be a puppet and the voice of the ursula puppet will be played by pat carroll in case you didn't know

re: Under the Sea

well they're having a costume / movement lab in london this week so we'll have to wait and see what they have come up with for the show. i think that this show will be a hit on broadway next year.

re: Under the Sea

What are the chances for an "unknown" to be cast as Ariel?
#31

re: Under the Sea

None.
Wrong, sir. Wrong! Under section 37B of the contract signed by him, it states quite clearly that all offers shall become null and void if - and you can read it for yourself in this photostatic copy - "I, the undersigned, shall forfeit all rights, privileges, and licenses herein and herein contained," et cetera, et cetera..."Fax mentis incendium gloria cultum," et cetera, et cetera..."Memo bis punitor delicatum"! It's all there, black and white, clear as crystal! You stole fizzy lifting drinks. You bumped into the ceiling which now has to be washed and sterilized, so you get nothing! You lose! Good day sir!

re: Under the Sea

who do you think will be most likely cast as ariel?
#33

re: Under the Sea

IMO, Ashley Brown should've been cast as Ariel and someone else as Mary Poppins. But no use crying over spilled milk.
#34

re: Under the Sea

Oo, I definitely agree with Cheyenne Jackson as Eric, and Sara Ramrirez as Ursula.
#35

re: Under the Sea

that would be fab casting!!!!!! especially cheyenne as prince eric.

re: Under the Sea

What about Eden Espinosa as Aerial? I mean she played the part at Dinseyland. But I still say Carole Shelley as Ursala and Idina Menzel as Vanessa.

re: Under the Sea

Menken must be in love with Ursula because he gave her two new songs and a reprise. Not to mention she has the longest songs in the show.

re: Under the Sea

How about Kristin Chenoweth as Ursula? That would be hilarious!

re: Under the Sea

i think carol shelley would make a great ursula and idina menzel as a great vanessa. that would be ideal casting.

re: Under the Sea

Why would Idina in her right mind ever play Vanessa?
#41

re: Under the Sea

Why would someone else necessarily need to play Vanessa? If you cast a knockout like Sara as Ursula (I'm ALL for that btw!), then you just need to visually distinguish her Ursula form apart from her Vanessa form. Seeing as Ursula is a grey-skinned white-haired octopus lady and most actresses aren't, surely it would be easy enough to just whip her out of costume and make-up (um... depending on how they choose to costume and make her up, that is) and go "voila! Vanessa!". Perhaps. If they wanted to do it that way, I'm sure they'd work out how to do it anyway. ^_^

re: Under the Sea

Ursula is purple, though.

ETA: That is probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever written.

re: Under the Sea

yeah, you're probably right. y would idina ever want to play vanessa? anyway, i'm still kinda leaning towards jenna leigh green as vanessa.

re: Under the Sea

Why not sutton as Ariel?

re: Under the Sea

Has anybody heard how the london costume/movement lab went?

re: Under the Sea

The thing that annoys me is all these nobody's claiming to have copies of the demo's.

Unless they have been distributed to the public, people should NOT have them. Period
