There's a game that I always played as a kid called "Unlikely Pairings." In this game, we'd pick the two most unlikely kids (or sometimes if we were bored with our neighborhood chums, celebrities) ever to get together and whoever picked the most unlikely pair won the game.
Now, I'm not looking at it as a game, just what you think could have been an unlikely pairing on Broadway that might have been crazy enough to work (could be leads, could be what director or choreographer with what show, could even go the route of Martin Charnin's "No Frills Revue" which presented us with a Jerry Herman West Side Story and a Sondheim Annie).
I'd like to open the floor with Bob Fosse and Jesus Christ Superstar.
That's really funny. I was in 'The No-Frills Revue' in college and as soon as I read the beginning of your thread I thought to myself 'Oooh it's like the No-Frills Revue!" and then I saw that you mentioned it. lol
I can't believe that nobody else commented on this yet. This is fun.
How about... Frank Langella and Constantine Maroulis.
Johnny Depp in a musical about Carol Channing...
oh whoops.
