perfectliar, HAIR taking The Shubert
was common knowledge. What I was referencing in saying that was how widely believed this "fact" was because of something Michael Reidel printed in The Post, but nowhere did I say that the notion was actually
true.
Anyone that actually knew anything about the situation was aware that Liz McCann committed to a deal with Jujamcyn months ago, so The Shubert was never even an option for the show.
What I meant by saying I "called it" in regards to BLITHE SPIRIT was that I'd said in the thread announcing Lansbury's casting that the producers would try to make a play for The Shubert (based purely on my own common knowledge and no "inside information,") which they did. I wasn't referencing anything but that initial post.
And the truth is that the producers of reasons to be pretty
did have a bid on The Lyceum that fell through within the last two weeks due to a contractual snag.
As you said, this is a
message board and should be treated as such. Things in this industry change, and anything you read here should be taken at face value. If you're choosing to hold it to a higher standard than you should, that's your issue.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
