"Hell's Kitchen, just west of the Broadway theater district, was hell for new musicals in November. "Evil Dead," "Mimi Le Duck" and "How to Save the World and Find True Love in 90 Minutes" have been joined by the questionably titled "The Big Voice: God or Merman?" The latest arrival has made it safe once again to venture across Eighth Avenue. "The Big Voice" is unconventional and perhaps unlikely, but this story of a mismatched couple, musical comedy-style, is funny, touching and warmly endearing."

I just can't wait to see the show and the last paragraph at the end was a ROFL moment!

What a very good review. Such a shame that the Times didn't even send anyone (I guess they got caught up in the Vertical Hour)...or perhaps they did and chose not to publish two theatre reviews on the same day.

Teenage Jim, sitting next to Ethel at Sardi's: "Should I be an actor or a priest?" Ethel: "Well, kid, how the hell should I know?"

HAHAHA! :)

I saw it when it was in North Hollywood. By far one of the most entertaining and touching shows I have ever seen (and I've seen a LOT)

Jim is a master bookwriter and Steve's songs fit perfectly. They are inspiring individuals and I bet they'll win the Drama Desk.

Theatremania review:

There are all different kinds of love stories. This one is as much about love of theater as it is about a 22-year relationship between two very talented men. Alternately hilarious and deeply moving, it should not be missed.

There have been a lot of openings this week, so the critics are definitely overwhelmed. However, the Times did send someone. They just haven't published the review yet. It should come out either Saturday or Monday.
