Did you see this on the other thread? Sierra Boggess confirmed (sort-of) as Christine. . . .

Posted: 1/31/06 at 6:56pmIs this going to be permanent, or touring? And where?

Permanent. Venetian. 90 minutes. Double-cast principals. Been talked about for a long time.

So, for what it's worth, the Venetian apparently told a phan who called up that Anthony Crivello is the Phantom -- though I thought there'd be two. Hmm.
And check out the ticket price. Pay more, get less!

Since I grew up outside Vegas (and now live in So. Cal) I travel often back home and stop there see shows. I can say that "Phantom" advertisements in full swing in Sin City so I'm curious to hear about any casting as well. Does anyone know what songs they cut to make it only 90 min?
I heard from sources who saw the Hairspray opening at the Luxor that with the songs cut from there it was ok, but the storyline they cut, it really downsizes the whole story and theme of the show. I saw Harvey and Dick on broadway and hope to make it to Vegas to see them there before their 12 week period ends.
I just hope that with storyline and songs cut from Phantom, that you still get the great feeling and effect of the show. I used to work at the Venetian and I think Phantom is a PERFECT fit for the hotel. I just hope they can make it work.

Wow, I think the price is kinda rediculous for a 90-min cut version.
I hope they release the seating charts soon so I can actually tell how big the theatre is. I keep on checking the Venetian site and it still says nothing about POTO.

If you go to the Venetians website and click on entertainment it will give you a list that includes Phantom. If you go to Phantom you can find out how to purchase tickets and also see a seating chart. It also gives you the link to Webbers website where you can find the cast list.

Posted: 5/2/06 at 9:47pmApparently, the only material cut is book material, because the websites so far seem to advertise it as including all of the show's musical numbers. Perhaps they trimmed a few of the numbers or something, I dunno.
