I'm going to apologize in advance. I tried the Pennsylvania board, but got no responses, so I thought I'd open it up to the main board. I'm going to college in Philadelphia and was looking into taking voice lessons while I'm here. Could any of you point me in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

My advice would be to start right in your own backyard. Your college most likely has a School of Music - they probably offer voice lessons as an elective. Good place to start.

My friend who was in the Vegas production of We Will Rock You and played a lead has a fantastic voice and raves about her teacher/coach from The University of the Arts....Dr. Neil Tracey...he's had several students on Bway and think still does.

I honestly wouldn't suggest Neil for guys. Especially tenors. he tends to do things for belters. Just be very sure you know what you want in a voice teacher.

I'd stay away from Neil Tracy as well! He has done damage to several of my students -- he does not show a commitment to healthful singing but, instead, only for the immediate results!
