saw WHITE NOISE her in New Orleans about a year ago, was talk of it headed to Broadway..? thought I read somewhere taht Whoopi Goldberg was interested in producing..... anyone know IF it's still Broadway bound, with a few edits and such I think it could be a smash
Really? I saw it at the NY Musical Theater Festival a while back and thought it was a bit thin, though with some work I think it could be an off-B'way success, a la Altar Boys. Can't imagine it working on Broadway, so I am curious as well.
I also saw it in New Orleans last year and thought it had a lot of promise. The score was really great as were the performances. It did need a bit of rewriting as it got very heavy towards the end. I know of about 10 people who ended up seeing it then and all of them really enjoyed it. The material really makes people think too which is always a good thing.
I also have been waiting to hear if this will ever transfer. While I think the quality is at the Broadway level, I don't think the show would do well financially because of its portrayal of racism in such a shocking and REAL way. The show would work best Off-Broadway, which is not a bad thing of course.
