Anyone know exactly where the HOUSE SEATS are for this production? Granted I know it depends on who's house seats they are, but anyone know the general vicinity? Are they within the $125 VIP section?

I've seen lots of things at the Pantages over the years from house seats. They range all over the theatre from front orchestra to front mezz.

In general though, I seem to remember being about six rows back on the aisle of the center orchestra more then once.

My advice:

Don't worry about getting a seat in the waaaay back. Every seat has a good view. re: WICKED - LA HOUSE SEATS

I would have to disagree with you there. I think the Pantages is one of the worst theatres for live theatre.

Really? I thought I had some good seats for Les Miserables, and I think I'm going to enjoy my Wicked seats....

eh when I saw chicago I was about 14 rows back and couldnt stand it. Some theatres its too close and you dont like it...but Pantages seems to be an exception.

How does one go about getting HOUSE SEATS? Is this the same as the cancellation line? I feel uninformed, help me quick.

Actors, Creative Staff etc. have built into their contracts a certain amount of "house seats" that have to be reserved for their disposal. It's basically a way to guarantee that they always have access to good tickets, traditionally for industry purposes, in the event the show is sold out.

Sometimes if the house seats aren't used they are released to the public, which is often why you can get sixth row center seats to a sold out show the afternoon before the performance.

Michael, when do House Seats get released? Is there a set time? Or are they released at the discretion of the house?

Thank you

rick

The Pantages is a beautiful theater and ever since Disney renovated it; the aqustics are wondeful. The really bad thing about the pantages theater is that their airconditioning system sucks. the mezzanie is always hot.

Other than being an extra in the movie "The Jazz Singer" back in the 80's, I have never had a good seat at the Pantages.

I did snuck in the theater about a month ago, almost got locked in, it was pitch dark, funny story that probably doesn't belong on the board. And got a first hand view of the seating. Anything in the Orch. up row W or Z looked pretty good. Even the side views weren't too bad. The Mezz looked good too, especially the first few rows.

What is the word on the when the house seats are released?

House seats are released at the discretion of the company. I work in a box office and we release seats (When we are told, by the company)....could be the day off....could be the min before....could be a few days in advance. its ALL ABOUT LUCK. Always try to split up too. You dont have to sit together. many EXCELLENT singles are always laying around.

I don't think there is a set time for the release of house seats but I've had incredibly good luck getting seats around 4:00 24 hours before the show.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

a guy from the theater called me a couple of days ago trying to sell me season tickets, and he told me its almost completely sold out. I dont know if he was just trying to get me to buy the season tickets or what, but that's what he told me.
