I wore my I LOVE OZ shirt today and my mom and I went shopping. (Got a GREAT deal on a Dooney & Burke purse, BTW
Anyway... My father is manager at a BELK'S store. It's a department store like MACY'S or PENNY'S for those who do not know. One of his employees saw my shirt, and she smiled and began telling me about she just finished the book and how wonderful she thinks it is
Then we went down to TALBOTS. The store clerk there asked, "If you "love OZ," have you read the book and seen the show?" I- of course- began to gush. We chatted happily.
Next stop was BORDERS. "You guessed it!" (said a la Lawrence in DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS as he sings about RUPRECHT.) The woman who assisted me LOVED Broadway and WICKED and Megan Hilty and we had a great time.
Goes to show how widespread and POPULAR the show/book is... even here in Knoxville, TN
Ever had anything like that happen to you with another show? Let's hear your stories

great story!
Thank you for the response, bwayondabrain
I thought it was rather funny for here myself.
Isn't it "amazing" how people in the south read books and go to see musicals......who knew?
Oh, they read and love the theatre- all the shows sell out that come here on tour and the book stores are mobbed. It just shocked and made me happy that three completely different women in three very different stores were as excited about it as I am
