Not sure if there are other comic book geeks on the boards, but in the newly-launched Justice Society of America comic book, there are a couple of references to WICKED.
A lonely, misunderstood teenaged superhero who keeps her powers hidden is shown in her day-to-day life at school. In one panel she is discussing with the drama department (looking quite bored, by the way) the various merits of WICKED and why it should be their annual musical that year.
A little bit later, she is standing on the roof of a building about to practice some of her flying skills. Just before she steps off the edge, she sings to herself, "It's time to try defying gravity...."
I was amused that not only was the show referenced in a comic book, but that the flying teenage girl character was identifying with Elphaba.
The comic/Broadway geek in me just cried with happiness a little a this. This would be why me friends all tell me I have a whole special wing reserved for me in the Geek Hall of Fame! I MUST get this issue. What issue number is it?
It's number 1 I believe

It's not really a reference, but in The Long Halloween, one of the panels has a couple leaving after seeing How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.
