WICKED understudy question (please read before u kill me :))

Hi. Im just letting u all know, I tried to find a thread where this would fit in but there werent any recent ones...and im goin in 2 weeks, that is why im curious...currently megan hilty is the standby for glinda, and saycon is the standby for elphaba...but when megan takes over the role, and when kristy cates is gone next week, who will understudy elphaba, and be glinda's standby???? confused??? lol sorry

Not sure about what they're going to do with Elphaba-- maybe someone else will be asked to do it?

They might hire a new Glinda standby like they did with Saycon. Stacie probably won't be moved up because Kristy wasn't moved up to standby when Idina left, so they probably will hire a new one.

They usually hire stanbys (like u said) right? their usually not in the ensemble right?

I'm not completely sure I understand your question, but the standby/understudies for each role are:

Elphaba standby is Saycon; understudy is Kristy Cates.

Glinda standby is Megan; understudy is currently Stacie Morgan Lewis, who will be the standby beginning May 31. They are working on getting a replacement for the u/s slot that Stacie is leaving.

If Shoshana or JLT are out, their standbys go in, unless Wicked wants to give the u/s some stage time.
