Posted: 1/22/06 at 9:56amWas Michael Ball in the show on Saturday afternoon & evening??? Or did he have a relapse? I know he went back full force on Tuesday. Just curious because I have friends coming in this week to see the show. Thanks in advance!!!!!

I was there for yesterday's matinee (1/21) and he was out. From what the ticket office said, he would be out for both performances that day, although I wasn't around later to see.
I thought he wasn't coming back after his illness, but maybe that was just a rumor.

Posted: 1/22/06 at 12:12pmPossibly he came back too soon? He went back in two days earlier than had originally been planned. Maybe he thought he was fully recovered and then he wasn't?

Yes he will be returning. He was in last week Tues-Friday (two shows on Wednesday) but was still not quite over the virus. He sounded absolutely fabulous on stage...you would never have known that he was not feeling 100%. I'm sure the fat suit doesn't help but I think it's contributory, not the cause. There are some nasty flu virus' going around and for most people it's at least a month before they the kick it.
He may have been back in today, if not, hopefully he'll be back on Tuesday. He shines in this role...the understudy's have both done very solid jobs but the show needs him back IMO.

Posted: 1/22/06 at 5:58pmI wondered if coming back like he did might have been too soon. Michael Crawford did the same thing last year in London. He was out for a while, came back for a few performances, then was out for the rest of his contract, though initially he had hoped to return. Hopefully MB is not ill again or relapsed. But, I also wouldn't be surprised either if it happened. Darn fat suit!

Posted: 1/22/06 at 8:32pmI hope he's coming back! My friend and I took a trip in early January especially to see him and he was ill the whole 9 days we were there. It was such a disappointment. We were planning to go back for the day in March for one of his last performances. I guess we'll have to keep tabs on him. I hope he gets better soon. :/
