I work in San Diego at a theatre supply store where techs from The La Jolla Playhouse come in all the time. From what they know, they're looking to take it to Broadway. Plus Des McAnuff is leaving as the artistic director, my guess is that he wants to leave with a bang.
The Yellow Brick Road is cutting through the audience and there will be seats on the stage.

Looking at the seating chart for the show, would it be better do you guys think to sit on the stage or in the orchestra?
Where was Nikki James announced?

Wait...Nikki James is a definite for Dororthy as of when? I was just discussing 'The Wiz' revival with a friend the other day, who told me that both Nikki James and Nikki Rene Daniels were contenders for Dorothy (although the latter is slated to cover Fantine in the 'Les Mis' revival, so obviously that wouldn't work). I also heard that the producers were considering a multiracial cast, in which instance they'd showed interest in Shoshana Bean...I found this hard to believe, and I think the creators of 'The Wiz' would turn over in their graves (figuratively of course...they might still be alive) to see a white Dorothy (Shoshana's vocals would be incredible, of course). Just what I'd heard though...I'm happy for Nikki James if she has indeed been cast--'All Shook Up' is a guilty pleasure of mine.
Nikki James would be great. I have a couple of friends cast in the ensemble, and they were told that a couple of young unknown teenage girls were actually in the running for Dorothy. So, I don't think an official offer has been made as of this point. Very exciting.
