WOMAN IN WHITE --A HIT!!!!

Last week Woman In White sold out at 101% capacity with glowing reviews from the Sunday London Newspapers. I am thrilled to see Andrew Lloyd Webber return to the hit column. I am sure it will follow the same path as Phantom which opened to much the same mixed response- raves and pans.

This is very exciting but I still think WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND should have been his next monster hit.

LOVE Whistle Down the Wind (I just think it is funny that I am a southerner and I don't mind the BAD southern accents but others do. LOL )

It did get good reviews from the Sunday papers, and it might well have sold out last week, but I would like to know where you got the 101% figure. As far as I know, there is no UK site comparable to Playbill where one can follow the weekly box office. If anybody knows of one, please let me know.

I don't have any facts of figures for you but I just returned from London 9/21-9/28 and I tried everything I could to get two seats to Woman in White! No one at the hotel, or any other contacts could beg, borrow, or steal me two tickets. I was willing to pay whatever I had to pay to get the tickets. I did hear of one person getting two tickets for a week night show and they paid 600 pounds a ticket which at the time I was there was about $1,200 dollars a ticket. It was the talk of the town.

I'm sorry that you couldn't get a ticket but glad to hear that the show is selling well. I think that the reviews were just mixed enough to make people want to see it for themselves.

how is maria friedman??? she is one of my fav. west end actress!!! does she have any good songs?? i read in a review on the woman in white site that she "belts with full force" so that makes me think she has some pretty good songs!!!! thanks :)

Look for the recording towards the mid -> late part of October is what's been said thus far. The score's been repeating in my head since I've seen the show, so am quite looking forward to the CD myself.

Sonia Friedman, one of the producers of the show, stated in an interview that since the Sunday paper reviews were all so ecstatic, the show has been at the 95% capacity mark. Nowhere has mentioned 101%.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.
