The Wikipedia.com entry for WONDERFUL TOWN mentions:
"In the libretto book for Ruth rented out by Tams-Whitmark for amateur productions, there is a complete set of alternate lyrics for "Conga," applying to more recent history."
Anybody ever heard these new lyrics?
Why would they rewrite the song with new lyrics? The show takes place in the 1930s, so they can't just include recent history. It wouldn't make any sense.
I sort of assume they mean "updated" in the sense that they may have referenced things from the 30s that people still remember today. It sounded odd to me too though there have been lots of stock revivals and perhaps one of them set the show in a different time period with the authors' blessing?
