Hey - I'm super-confused with this whole strike. Am I *going* to A BRONX TALE tonight, or not? Haha!

Only shows playing on Mondays will play tonight. No strike yet.
That means "YES!" - YAY! Thanks for the quickie response.

All shows are on. All Local One did yesterday was authorize the RIGHT to go on strike if they decide to -- at some later date. It's unclear exactly when such a strike would begin, but many seem to think that sometime closer to the holidays (like the end of November) would be likely, given it would (when more tourists are in town and the producers have more to lose) have more impact then than now.
So, again, ALL SHOWS are on for the time being.
I read a quote from the Local One president saying that if they do proceed with a strike then there will be "no shows in December." So, I'm guessing that it looks like December 1st will be the first day of strike if one does, in fact, occur.
If the buzz I'm hearing is right (and I have no idea) the strike will start sometime late this afternoon.

I was wondering about that. I've heard the December date, but I've also heard that if the stagehands work even one day under the stipulations the League wants, it constitutes acceptance of that contract. If the League is going to start imposing their "final offer" today, it seems the union would have no choice BUT to strike immediately if they want to avoid being boxed into the new contract.

I have heard from a fairly reliable source that a strike may begin at 6 pm tonight. The main thing that I guess they are waiting on is confirmation from legal whether continuing to work under the new policies from league will constitute acceptance.
I heard that it would take 48 hrs. or so to 'initiate' a strike, though. I mean, I'm taking a 6-something train, and I'd HATE to be down there with my tix and find out that 'whops! no show!' 'cause yeah, that would be bad. lol
Right Mike. The Union has to give the League 48 hours notice of an impending Strike. Likewise the League would have to give 48 hours notice to the Union of an impending Lockout. You're safe tonight. So relax and enjoy the show!
