Okay, after listening to this again and again, I'm going to be a shill and say GET THIS! GET THIS! GET THIS CD NOW! If you are even a small Sondheim fan, this Cd is a must have. I heard the entire show on the radio but the quality of the recording on the CD and the placement of the songs (which is sonic perfection) is not to be missed. Every number is great but my favorites have to be Carolee and Greg's thrilling Move On, NPH's quite thrilling Finishing the Hat, Donna Murphy's perfect Losing My Mind, and a divine Now/Later/Soon, and my new number 1 version of one of my top 5 Sondheim songs, Green Finch and Linnet Bird.

I second this. You know, as much as I keep saying to myself, "You don't need another CD with songs you already have about fifty versions of already," I'm in love with these versions. They really picked the best of the best for this highlights CD (I still hope they put out another, though; I'll buy it!). The quality IS amazing and just listening to it reminds me of what a fantastic day that was. I love all the songs you mentioned, and would also add Michael Cerveris's (uh, of course) "Anyone Can Whistle", Gregg Edelman's "Marry Me a Little" and Telly Leung's "Bowler Hat". All just so, so fantastic.
It's a great cd but it is so, so very incomplete. There were just too many blockbusters that glorious day. I would pay big, big money for a complete recording. Ho hum.

Don't have it yet, but I'm gonna get it ASAP.
I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago. It hasn't arrived. I don't mind the fact that it is not complete. I am one of those poor souls who couldn't be at Symphony Space for the remarkable event. I sat listening to less than perfect sound on my computer. But, without perfection, I could still feel the emotion of the day and evening. I could hear the audience reactions and longed to be there. So, even a limited selection would thrill me to bits.
