I've lost the lottery for Amelie and received a code for discounted tickets for that performance. Has anyone sat extreme left or right in the mezzanine yet? How much of the show would I miss?

Edit: the seats in question are left Mezz C25 or right Mezz D26

I haven't sat there for Amelie, but these were also the lotto loser seats for Falsettos and I thought they were great. Definitely one of the closer mezzanines on Broadway, IMO.

I have orchestra seats for Amelie and I've heard the show is best appreciated from there, but the Walter Kerr's not massive so I think you'll be okay...

The mezz seats are pretty good. I strongly suggest not sitting in the balcony for this show.

electrode10 I too was at the Kerr for Falsettos

Ado As much as I would love to, money's been a little bit tight, otherwise I would have went with orchestra too.

ameliegh Thank you for the feedback! My general rule of thumb is orchestra or the first few rows of Mezz for the Kerr.

Don't know if you're able to rush. But the rush tickets are orchestra and the view is fantastic! They're $39.50

If I was I would be able to but I have to be somewhere early Friday morning, and from rush reports it sells quick.

I got the last rush ticket this past Tuesday an hour before curtain. I was in the side orchestra, it was a great seat.

How much are the lotto loser seats? Just in case rush will become more difficult towards the summer. Only visiting in June.

I was far side for FALSETTOS there and I thought it as a great view. That show was largely staged in the center though.

$83 orchestra, $58 mezzanine

I sat Mezz Center row G last night 109-111. The entire two rows in front of us were completely empty which was actually quite nice since the leg room is VERY tight and we could stretch our legs a bit more than expected. The view was pretty decent for most of the performance; especially for $59 (or $68 including service charges) There was only one scene where I thought we were just a bit too high and could see a wee bit of some of the "magic" in the scene. I would NOT be interested in the balcony at all in this theater. I was shocked when I realized there were even people sitting up there. Just say no. But with there being big stretches of empty seats last night, maybe you'll be able to move closer to center?

Out of curiosity, is it the house that makes the balcony undesirable, or just this show? Because I remember sitting in the balcony for GGLAM and it was fine.

I sat balcony for Gentleman's Guide and Falsettos and thought it was fine; I'd assume it's the show.

It might be worse for this show due to the staging, but in general, the Kerr balcony is the worst balcony on Broadway. It is very high, only two rows, and slightly pitched forward so you feel like you are going to fall over the edge. Many shows that book the Kerr don't even sell the balcony.

Believe me, I'm not a seat snob, but I try to avoid that balcony if at all possible.
