I thought Fogler was fantastic. I can understand why he was the only one nominated. Ferguson was very funny, but Llana seemed like he was trying too hard to play a child. I will say, though, that Llana probably has the strongest voice of the male cast.
And I absolutely love this show.
"PS - If there was a Best Song Tony Award, I would give it to The I Love You Song."
-if it werent' for that darn "daddalie and mammalie" line I might be inclined to agree with you.
I thought the show was funny, but I thought the music was pretty bland. I loved the cast, and appreciated how actor driven the show was.
But I mean, you are definitely not the only one. The Tony committee wasn't too impressed either :0)
The more I listen to the CD, the richer I find the score. I thought it was a fun show. I think Dan deserved his Tony. I think thecast is fantastic, especially the fresh vocals of of Lisa Howard, Celia Keenan-Bolger, and Deborah S. Craig.
I think the hype ruined the show for those of you who went in expecting the second coming. I bet a second viewing would be more enjoyable.

lol I love that line...
And I meant he was the only male nominated... not female.
Deborah S. Craig and Lisa Howard have wonderful voices.

While I haven't seen the show yet, I just got my hands on the CD yesterday. Going by the score, I like it but other than 'I Speak Six Languages' none of the songs have me floored. On the other hand, I like the score quite a bit and the CD strikes me as matured version of YAGMCB rather than something like AveQ.
Surely "I Love You Song" has grabbed you!? I feel in love with that song first listen!

'I Love You Song' is up there as well, but I found myself listening to 'Six Languages' on a loop for about 20 min. after finishing the whole disc.

Well, "Six Languages" IS a great one, too.
