Apparently I saw Karen Olivo on her bad nights, because I didn't like her Vanessa at all (my opinion on her Anita notwithstanding). I found her boring.
I like Marcy but if I'm being perfectly honest, my favorite Vanessa is Janet Dacal. Looking forward to seeing Gabrielle though!

DAME, Rick is solid. It's a boring role, but he does well within it if that makes sense.
I think my opinion from before could be best summed up as this: I could see why Javi's Usnavi would fall in love with Marcy's Vanessa a hell of a lot more than Lin's Usnavi would fall in love with Karen's Vanessa.
I hardly care though. I'm in it for Carla and Daniella.

Posted: 6/18/09 at 3:01amI saw the show after Karen already left and didn't really like Marcy that much either. Her voice was ok, but it was really her acting that made me not care for the character at all. Now after listening to the OBCR and seeing clips of Karen, I fell in love with Karen and her voice.
