Was there ever a UK recording of "Hairspray" with Michael Ball?

For some reason I heard a recoding was finally made....did that ever happen? I can not find it!

There was never a cast recording made for Hairspray with the UK cast. There IS, however, a recording of You Can't Stop the Beat with Michael Ball and the UK leads that was recorded for one of Ball's CDs.

Very welcome.
If you know the original lyrics or the language enough to keep up, there is a German cast recording of Hairspray that is well worth the effort to get. Maite Kelly is a winning Tracy and some of the edits to the music are different than on the Broadway cast recording.

The orchestrations on the Köln cast recording are beautifully done.
