Posted: 8/18/07 at 9:42pmSeriously, we should have a separate board for all of the seating questions. If it's a question about planning a trip, then it doesn't bug me, but seeing all those specific seating questions are getting tiresome. Some people are acting as if there are some seats where they wouldn't be able to see any part of the stage.

All of these seating qustions bother the hell of me. People go buy tickets tat are hard to get for very popular shows and then wonder if they got good seats. You should be lucky that you got those hard to get tickets in the first place. In fact tickets for any show are something that you shouldn't complain about. Look at all the people who would wish that they could go to as many broadway shows as many of the people here go to.
I know that ticketmaster offers crappy seating charts but telecharge has great ones. And playbill has good seating charts for all the shows sold oon ticket master so you should just use that. And telecharge has good seating charts of all the show that they sell.
For F*CK sake, there are many ways to see if a seat is goo. And if you don't know for sure and you cannt find out online ( which you would have to be dumber then a monkey to not figure out) then do what i do. Wait till you get to the goddamn theatre and sit and enjoy the show and don't bitch about how you had bad seats ect just enjoy the show and be happy as a pig in SH*T that yourr at a broadway show.

Yes, all the questions can get annoying (and I'm just as guilty as the next person for asking advice on this board) but its understandable for a person to try to get all the facts before they shell out $100 on a seat. I've purchased a crappy seat and you really can't enjoy the play knowing you spent $65 on a ticket that should have been marked partial view (thank you Phantom....)
But I do agree, there should be one topic where advice can be given (there was a rush advice topic awhile ago, wasn't there?)

I disagree. While I've never asked about seating locations on this forum, I have asked at other ones, and I do so because where I sit for a show determines how much I will enjoy it. I hate sitting just far enough to see nothing but a blur instead of expressions. Different theatres have different layouts and it's always nice to get advice from people who know.
At over $100 a pop, I'd like to make sure I'm getting my money's worth.
Having said that, I think a seating question board is a wonderful idea.

Bravo, Winston! Here, here!
I, too, get riled-up by some people who keep asking the same questions about theatres and "Help Me Pick Which Seats Are Better". Admittedly, I ask because of my visual impairment, and I go by all of your feeback, so you'll have to excuse my posts as 'other' -- I am thankful that you're so straightforward about this issue, and I too agree we should have an OFFICIAL BROADWAY HOUSE SEATING QUESTIONS board for future references.

Posted: 8/19/07 at 3:39amWhat I don't understand is why people ask if they have good seats or not AFTER they have bought them,(cough LimelightMike cough) I mean it isn't like you can return them or anything. I also don't get why somebody would ask if FRONT ROW Orchestra Center is good...

Sometimes the stage is so high (Neil Simon & Palace, for example) that you are looking up and straining your neck. These threads would have helped you realize that!

Posted: 8/19/07 at 8:32am... as i said- if advice is offerd here when someone wants to know what front row centre mezz seats are like and they hate the seats they will be back on here as soon as that curtain hits the stage to rip us apart! grrrr! STICK TO THIS POST PLEEEEASE!

Posted: 8/19/07 at 9:57amokay, make a thread just for seating questions, that way we can all ignore them and go on with our lives :)
#16re: We should have 'Seating Qs' board
Posted: 8/19/07 at 12:59pmneddy, I'm sorry for being an annoyance to you, but seriously... I don't PURCHASE the tickets until after hearing from my friends (who's opinions I respect a whole heckova lot) on this board here. They have good intentions when it comes to someone's enjoyment of a production, especially if that person is handicapped like myself. So, next time, don't judge. Please. It's for the bettermenet of this board.

It is a shame that there isn't (to my knowledge) a Broadway equivalent of http://www.theatremonkey.com
I rely on it every time i book in advance for a show in London.
