I'm new to the forums but if anybody can pm me a site that will let somebody download showtunes for free it would be greatly appreciated.

Any such website would be HIGHLY illegal!

However that doesn't mean that such a site wouldn't exist

However, it IS against the policies of this message board to ask.
In this highly volatile economy, where shows go unrecorded, and most cast recordings fail to turn a profit, you should be ashamed of yourself for asking for something like this.

Hmmmm wasn't there a website that wold let you stream them but not download them. I remember going to it to listen to the Hairspray soundtrack before it came to stores.

I know it's not as good as downloading them, but there are some free radios around such as the one here on BroadwayWorld.com and the one on Playbill.com
Also many shows have some samples up on their websites that you can listen to to your hearts content...
there's this brand new website called youtube.com. i dunno if you've heard about it.
my friend uses accubroadway.com sometimes. It is pretty well organized :)

Pianolin717, that is a great website! I love how you can listen by decade or composer or by Tony nominees! I am now obsessed!

Can someone just give me money? It would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know what you're looking for, but I've realized recently that for older cast recordings, a public library is a WONDERFUL resource.
Save up your money and support the dying art of the cast recording.
