That is strange that she would say two different things, but I would be more inclined to say what she told you is true. I think that she would want to try Joanne at least once, but who knows.

I am sure I have read an interview with Patti where she said that she did duck out of the double part thing. There was a funny story to go along with it but I dont recall!

Oh and Melba Moore also avoided playing the barricade boy when she played the role.

I've always wanted to see a black Annie with a White Rooster and Lily. I think the scene where everyone believes they are her real parents would be funny.

No she didnt play Fantine. But i think she did this thing where she randomly shows up in a show for a few minutes without really disturbing the show around Ldn a few years back. I am positive she did 5 mins of Les Mis as one of the barricade boys.. MAN!

In reference to the Yassmin Alers/Joanne story, I think I read somewhere that when she had to hide from the stage manager it was because she wasn't prepared to go on that night. Something like Shayna Steele was stuck on the Subway and wasn't going to be there in time to go on and for some strange reason showed up last minute.

not replacement so much as odd doubling in the off broadway production of reefer madness the whole cast was in most numbers. Which means michelle pawk and bob torti played high school zombies for the title song.
