I just wanted to post about this because I first read about this show on one of the boards threads. I got the CD and REALLY enjoyed it, now I've seen that The York Theatre is doing it this week for 3 performances as part of their staged reading series. I'm sure there are other fans of the show in NYC, so enjoy!
Normally I wouldn't post "selling" a show, but I thought it was appropriate to mention since it was the board that got me interested in it in the first place.
Thank you!

I did this show 10 years ago...and personally hate it. Maybe its the two different one acts that ruin it for me. But it was one of my worst experiences in theatre. Music is good, lyrics are less to be desired and concept can be far fetched, but I hear this production has been reworked. Wish everyone best of luck with the production. I dont recommend the show to hs or younger groups to do (its a bit adult).
oh and there is one good song in act one called "worth it" ellen greene does great job on cd, and if it is sung well and staged good it can be pretty powerful.
oh yeah and just my opinion feel free to disagree...

I saw the original off-broadway production and thought it was very well done. It's not for everyone - but having always been into the twilight zone and such, I thought both adaptations were excellent. There are some very clever songs in the show like "Need to Know" and "A Man" as well...

OK I'd like to say something in favor of this piece. It is based on two sci-fi pieces. The first, I don't know if it is an original or not, the second (Her Pilgrim Soul) was seen in a television adaptation on the second "Twilight Zone" series and is one of my favorite short sci-fi pieces. The score is extremely good and the lyrics very clever. I have listened to this score hundreds of times and have never failed to be moved by it. It is an extremely heartfelt score (very rare in these days of slick professionalism). When I found out that York was doing it I rushed out and got tickets for it. The cast looks very, very good. Hopefully this will turn out well, as I think it is potentially one of the best things that they have ever done.
Anyway, that's my opinion, I may be wrong. We will see on Friday.
