I had the pleasure of attending the Tuesday night performance of Nice Work If You Can Get It. And while the show itself is simply delightful, Erin Dilly's first performance on Broadway in years was a treat. Her voice is golden, especially her upper register. Her comedic timing is excellent and her movement on the stage made you remember that she has been Tony nominated 7 years ago for a reason.
Here's to hoping she continues to perform on Broadway in the years to come!

I've missed Erin Dilly. I hope to catch Nice Work while she's there.

There was a crackling noise, and when he started to speak, he was not miked. He then asked her, "Can I talk into your head?," which every

I think someone spoke from the wings, because then Matthew said, "I'll just be loud." which he was, for his next few lines. There was a long sequence before his next line, and then his mic was fine. Perhaps they just turned it off and waited for it to dry before turning it on. Or perhaps her aim was off, or the glass was overly full. At any rate, he was pretty wet, and a Carol Burnett moment very nearly broke out, if you know what I mean!

I always wonder what would have happened if Erin Dilly had not left Millie.

I don't think it would have been the success it was without Sutton Foster.

Posted: 7/22/12 at 10:48amHas anyone seen Erin the role this past week? I've wondered how they can bring in someone who has not been rehearsing since the beginning. Does the entire cast have to go through rehearsals again? Just seems like a lot of work for a 2 week replacement. Im sure she is great but an understudy should be suitable for such a situation.

He's had a lot of practice with that. It happened from time to time in The Producers when Nathan Lane's Max flung a glass of water at Matthew's Leo to try to stop his hysteria.

Keep in mind that Erin has a lot of experience playing Billie Bendix. She did all the workshops of the show from 2002 to 2008, and was slated to play the role opposite Harry Connick before that version of the show fell apart on the way to Broadway. So she's not exactly a newcomer here.
Saw her in the show last night. She's fantastic. Smooth, polished, and completely comfortable in the part. Don't miss her.

Posted: 7/22/12 at 2:17pmThanks Valentine...I had no doubt she would be great since she's such a talent but couldn't understand how this 2 week process went with rehearsals and all. However, I'm sure the workshop experience was the determining factor. Perhaps considered for Kelli's replacement if she is free at the time?
