Hey, campers!

I went to a private reading yesterday of one of the smash musicals from last year's New York Musical Theater Festival..."Fat Camp".

...and I have to say that as much fun as I had last year, this show has (no pun intended) grown exponentially.

Randy Blair, Timothy Drucker and Matthew Roi Berger have done a fabulous job with new songs, clever new jokes, and a few changes of plot points that bring it all together in an even smarter, funnier way than in last year's NYMF production.

Most of last year's cast returned (including the DYNAMITE Carly Jibson as "Daphne")...and a terrific performance from Nikki Blonsky (yes, I had moments where I looked at the stage and thought, "Wow, the battle of the Tracy Turnblads! LOL).

I'm looking forward to seeing this show fully staged, costumed and rocking!

Congrats to producers Michael Minarik and Carl Levin on a pair of successful readings...and kudos to the cast, crew, band, and everyone involved!

FAT is where it's AT! And with luck, love and $$$...where it's at will be BROADWAY!

As soon as I read "I went to a private reading..." I became completely jealous. I'm glad you had a great time. I hope it comes to Broadway soon.

I saw the show at nymf....i can't wait for it to hit broadway, it was amazing

There is a video of Carly Jibson singing "I'm Not Pregnant." Is that song in the show?

rmusic, that song is by Katie Thompson and not in Fat Camp the Musical. From what I remember from NYMF, Jibson gets some great belting/comedic moments like this in the show.
