I understand why you’d say that with the various idiosyncratic postures he does. I am curious to hear how the replacement does and whether all of this will be mimicked or not.

I did not see them in those roles. But this is not about individual actors. I'm sure that production had plenty of great performances, specifically Frau Schneider. This is about the relationship, which was a more neutered, old-age companionship thing in that production. There's a bit more passion and innuendo here.
