Do London's West End theaters do anything similar to rushes and lotteries? If so, where can I find information on that?
Thanks.

Most West End theaters do "Day Tickets" when the box office opens. They range from 12-25 pounds. You can find the info on the shows website.
The National does 12 pound day tickets for all shows.
Even the most popular/sold out shows usually hold 10-20 tickets for "Day Tickets"
Also, their TKTS booth sells discount tickets up to 7 days in advance, which is helpful when planning your week. All of the tickets I have purchased through TKTS have been really great Stall (aka Orchestra) seats. Unlike NYC, the people at the TKTS booth in London, are friendly, informative and happy to answer as many questions as you may have.
