Since it seems that a few posters have now seen WSS in DC, I wanted to ask a question about seating preferences. I am looking into buying a ticket for myself and am trying to decide between a seat in the front orchestra on the far sides or in the mezz. Can anyone who has seen the show give me their opinion? Thanks.
try the lotto!!
front row orchestra, which was awesome, and perfect except for the Quintet, because there was SOOO much going on, but other than that, try those!!
I didn't even know there was a lotto. What are the details (time, etc.)? That would be perfect!
yeah its not advertised
And i didn't know either til i went last tuesday to get student tickets for that night but the guy at the box office said there was a lotto
and its 2 hours prior to showtime (so 6 for the 8 o'clock show I went to)
and then they draw names 30 minutes after and its 26.50 for front row seats and they have 21 seats available so its best if you are going with someone, so you can put your names down twice, since you can get two tickets per entry
Thanks so much for the info! I will definitely give it a try. :)
no problem!!
And i went the second night and the guy said that 3 people did it the first night and of course they all won haha
then for my night there was about 10 people, but that still didn't calm my fear of losing lol
but good luck!!
How high is the stage? I'm gonna try next week. Also do you think it is too close? Sometimes when people sti in the front row they think they are too close. I'm fine with it but I'm going with some people who would not like it as much.
TMZ, if you wind up not winning the lotto and you still have the two seating options you mentioned in your first post, I would recommend the Mezzanine at the National. I've never had a bad view from the Mezzanine, but I can't say that for Orchestra.
Good luck! I hope you win.
the stage is not high at all, you can see everything, its perfect
like i have said before, the ONLY time it becomes too close is for the Quintet... and then for the balcony you do have to look up, but its not that bad
I am short but I was in row D of the orchestra and had difficulty seeing the performers' feet.
I'm fine if I don't see their feet. I just don't want it to be view a la Gypsy.
