She said she had nobody in mind, imparticular...just not him. If I find the place I read it again (it's in a box of stuff I had in college) i'll scan it and post it for you. =)

I think there's something SO cute about him...I love the "One Hand, One Heart" scene, when Natalie goes, "I will wait for you on the roof" and Richard goes, "No...not the roof..." Love the way he says it.
I think he tries a little too hard to do a NYC accent, though...he's from the midwest, I think?
Anyway, I had a crush on him as a child...I was a strange kid...loved him in The Diary of Anne Frank, The Longest Day and Johnny Tremain...and also that really silly movie when Bing Crosby goes back to college and hangs out with the kids...I think it's called High Time?

Audiences in the 1960's weren't necessarily aware the actors in musicals were dubbed (not did the studios do anything to change that impression). Of course, aspects of WSS might appear synthetic, obvious or even primitive. But considering how well done it is for its time, you might just sit back and appreciate it for its virtues and be thankful we have it for posterity. Updated On: 8/31/04 at 09:24 PM
