The New York Chapter of the Recording Academy has scheduled a special dinner and ceremony for Sept. 26, 2007 to honor the creators of West Side Story: Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents, Jerome Robbins, and Stephen Sondheim.
That night will be precisely 50 years since the show opened on Broadway.
The Recording Academy, best known for the Grammy Awards, is also honoring Bon Jovi, Alicia Keys, and Donnie McClurkin that night. Cocktails at 6, dinner at 7, and tributes, awards, and performances (!) begin at 8.
The invite also promises a "special legacy presentation," whatever that means...
