Western Michigan University

I am a high school senior and I want to persue Musical theatre in college. I want to go to Western Michigan University. But they only accept 5 men per year. Also you can only audition one time. Does anyone know how I can have an edge. Is there anyone out there that is going to Western Michigan Currently or in the past. I need to get in there it is a dream of mine.

I live about fifteen minutes from there. One of my friends just graduated, and she auditioned for it. She has major family connections, her family is friends with the choreographer of the Broadway production of 'Hairspray' and she has 'friends at the top' at WMU. She only made it to the second audition. My advice is you better be damn good, there is no way you can have an edge. Just practice and be at your best.

yeah I have a couple of friends in their program. My friend Catherine will be a junior and was accepted into their theatre dept right away but not M.T. My friend Christine is a musical theatre major and will be a junior as well and was originally wait listed for theatre and musical theatre and then a place in theatre opened up so she got in and then the same thing happened in musical theatre. And my friend Paul will be a freshman there in musical theatre. My advice is go for it, audition at other schools just in case and you never know what may happen.
