Based on past productions, the books, the scores, and the actors in the current and upcoming productions, which of these would you recommend most: The Fantasticks, The Apple Tree, or Les Miserables?
I would personally recommend Les Miserables based on the current cast being extremely intriguing.

Not the Fantasticks. I'd even reccomend watching the Naked Cowbody for 3 hours over that catastrophe.
Stick with Les Mis. I don't think you will be let down.

the casting for the les miz revival has me fascinated to no end.
I have not seen these versions so no clue.
Somethings I have liked:
Southern Comforts 59 East 59th Theater- Great acting, wonderful charming play.
The Two and Only- The most underated show on Broadway.
Avenue Q- One of my top picks!
A Chorus Line- One of the greatest musicals ever written with an incredible cast!
Grey Gardens- Brilliant acting by Christine Ebersole.
I can't tell you to see something because I have not seen the shows now. I am sure Norm Lewis, Gary Beach and Celia are incredible but I have not seen it. I have seen Kristin in the Apple Tree at Encores and it was incredible. Marc Kudisch is always perfection in voice and acting!
If you want pure entertainment I adore Jersey Boys. Such energy!

Les Miserables. I've never even been able to get through any of the previous cast recordings of this show, but the new revival cast makes me want to see it.
What's the score of The Apple Tree like? Is it as good as Fiddler?
Now understand that I'm just a little biased as The Apple Tree is my all time favorite musical. While Fiddler's score resulted in a some very well known (may even be considered classic) tunes like If I Were a Rich Man and Sunrise Sunset and The Apple Tree hasn't, The Apple Tree's music is extremely tuneful, definitely clever and I just never tire of listening to the OBCR.
I'm confident that you'll enjoy it!
