Just got back from seeing BSM at Feinsteins. What a show !!!
We could have sat there for another 4 hours !!! Incredible intimate setting ! Our table was around 5 feet from the stage, and it really felt like a concert performed in your living room !
He performed mainly jazz songs. His cover of "Its Not Easy Being Green" was great ! He also sang a beautiful song dedicated to his son that he heard Marin Mazzie sing a number of years ago.
Did some Cole Porter, some Gershwin...
Closed with "The Impossible Dream". Hearing him sing that song from so close was something that I will never forget. After the show, one of the band members asked my wife (basically out of the blue !) if we would like to come "backstage" and say "hello". Of course we did !!! He remembered us from our "MOLM" days, and was as gracious as ever ! He is such an incredibly humble, wonderful person.
Didnt ask about his album.... was going to, but still had the set from last night in my head, so I told him that he should record those songs. Joking, he said that we already had his "Impossible Dream" on record.
What other songs did he sing? Did he sing Make Someone Happy? I saw him in Orange County; he was performing with Barbara Cook and he was AMAZING. I'm going to his very last last performance on the 19th at 11pm. Can't wait!
