Hey everybody! I am going to be performing my own concert in the fall as a fundraiser for the community choir that I am in. Kind of crazy, considering I am only 17. Anyway, I have been ooking for ideas of songs to include. I have a lot of things in mind, but not very many comedic pieces. I have loved the female songs "Taylor the Latte Boy," "The Alto's Lament," and others, but I do not know of very many guy songs that are funny. If you guys have any ideas, let me know. I am really excited for this show and I want to blow people away. I really appreciate your help. If you want to, you can hear a little clip of me on a website, singing "God Bless the USA." If you go under "Past performances," you should be able to find it. Sorry it wasn't my best, due to having strep throat.

Casey-
Wow! Great voice! Here are my favorite songs to hear guys sing, but since I'm a girl I'm not sure how vocally challenging they are for guys (so if anyone wants to provide commentary and them, please do!):
Being Alive-from Company
I Won't Send Roses-from Mack and Mable ***this is golden****
Maria-West Side Story
Luck, Be a Lady-from Guys and Dolls
High, Flying Adored-from Evita
Younger than Springtime-from South Pacific
If Ever I Would Leave You-from Camelot
On The Street Where You Live-My Fair Lady
Impossible Dream-Man of La Mancha
The Sadder-but-Wiser Girl-from The Music Man***this is a great comedic song***
The Surrey with the Fringe on Top-from Oklahoma
That's my list for now! Hope it helps a little!
Always,

My personal favorite would be:
I'm Calm (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum)
It's a really funny spaz-out song.
Here are a few other thoughts.
I Can Do That (A Chorus Line)
Love, I Hear (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum)
All I Care About (Chicago)
Razzle Dazzle (Chicago)
She Cries (Songs for a New World)
What Do I Need with Love? (Thoroughly Modern Millie)
Good luck!

Posted: 4/4/04 at 8:25pmThank you so much! Once I get back from serving a mission for my church, I will be 21. By then, my voice will have matured quite a bit. Then I will pursue my dream.
