I recommend Wonderful Town..it's my latest personal favorite. It's a fun show and Donna Murphy is simply amazing! And heck..the show could use more ticket sales!!!!
If you're seeing Avenue Q and Jumpers, here are two to balance the mix out, that are also fabulous:
Blue Man Group
Fiddler on the Roof/Boy From Oz/Wicked
Wicked, Chicago, Caroline
If I might suggest you see Wicked because as you can tell from the threads on this board it will be a show that will always be talked about. And the opportunity to see the entire original cast will be coming to a close in July. Assasins is the other hot show now. I have not seen it but it seems to be doing very well and the reviews were mostly raves.

See THE BOY FROM DOZE only for the already legendary performance of Hugh Jackman. The show that surrounds him is incredibly dreadful.

Thanks for all the input folks!!! We have already ssen Assassins ( wow!! what a great show!) and Wicked we saw last Novenber. I think it's going to be Caroline, and Finian's Rainbow and we will daytrip it down for a matinee of Bridge and Tunnel. Now lets hope for some more nice weather.

"it will be a show that will always be talked about"
If Wicked closed tomorrow, by next Sunday it will have been forgotten.
Or for something completely different. De la guarda is cool.
I have heard alot of good thighs about that show Jamie Hat, do you know how long the run is?

So when are you going in May?
I'm thinking of going ahead and getting my ticket for "Wicked". I don't want to miss it after reading the paper today. Just need to decide what day/night.

My husband and I will be there 5/21-5/23. Looks like we'll be seeing Ave Q on Friday night ( WOO HOO) Jumpers Sat. afternoon Caroline or Change Sat. evening and Finian's Rainbow on Sunday.
Yeppers on that one DofB5 if you want to see the OBC of Wicked get your tickets now!

Mominator...Yes I know you have been watching carefully the "critical"reaction to Bombay Dreams, and to what those on this board have to say, but you will really end up kicking yourself if you dont' go to see the show when you are in NY. We went last night and it recieved a ten minute standing ovation, with the audience wildly cheering. Go pick up this weeks entertainment weekly (it gets a glowing review) or Time magainze, or read Howard Kissels review from the Ny Daily News. These are fair unbiased reviews.
The music, dancing and yes, even the script are top notch.. despite the hawkings of some of the more bitter poeple on this board and the "critics" ( who I place in the same category as the government and press which likes to tell us things are going just as planned in Iraq) the word of mouth in NY is FANTASTIC for this show....If the show was was so bad why was it sold out for both show yesterday...
Anyway, do you and your daughter a favor and use your owns brains ...see something fresh, exciting and new--this show is going to be a huge hit, you'll see...
Thanks magicfingers, but if you had been following the thread, most of the shows have been my husband and I ( my daughter only goes in on special occacions) I do have a brain and I do use it. It is the mere fact that I am not a fan of ALW, or the whole Bollywood scene to start with. Personaly I hope the show goes well I hate to see any theater empty. That is what Broadway is all about different shows for different tastes. I have liked shows that the critics didn't care for. I love shows that make you think (Roulette, Assassins,Intimate Apparel) as well as Tea at Five that had too short a run last Spring. My husband and I also liked Mamma Mia, and Wicked, Movin' Out. But our all time fav is still to this day Forbidden Broadway.
As was stated earier in this thread, if I could get cheap tickets ( rush, twofers, TKTS Booth) and I had nothing else planned yeah I might go.
OK I am now off my soapbox.
