It cost over $45 million to produce, and it had operating costs over $900,000 per week, meaning it would have to sell out for five years to just break even.

It is the most fantatsic show ever to play Broadway.
Mind blowing.

You have no right to say it's a train wreck. You haven't seen it, no one has. Don't judge anything before you see it.

Drunk Chita Rivera, I know I can't judge the content, I meant that financially, it is a train wreck. It is extremely expensive and is having monetary issues.
Trainwrck, to elaborate on what I guess you missed, back in August, they had to stop working on the theater because of big issues with cash and that was when all this news broke of how expensive the show is and how unlikely it is for the show to recoup, which probably didn't help with finding new investors. A week later, they continued work as rumors of the show being delayed grew. A few weeks before previews were supposed to start, they announced that they would try to open in the summer.

There is a small amount of music on the Spider-Man website & I love it. It's really nothing to base the show off of but whatever.

Isn't Disney involved in this show now that Disney bought Marvel?
I think I read in Variety a while back that this was the case, but I'm not sure. Anyway, despite the difficulties, I would not necessarily bet against Taymoor. People were scoffing at the idea of putting The Lion King on stage once upon a time. If this does come to Broadway, I will definitely go see it.

Posted: 3/9/10 at 11:59amI am fairly certain that we'll see Spider-man. I suspect it will be revised to be financially more feasible, but I think it will happen.
