After the award nominations, what musical reaps the greatest box office benefit? I know Spamalot is sold out for the forseable future, so the bump for 14 nominations is negligible ... but, which of the other musicals will benefit the most? Is this a death blow for All Shook Up? Can Chitty hang on?

Piazza? It got a ton of noms.

There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.

I don't think the nominations create huge bumps, but I'd certainly expect to see the Best Musical/Play nominees to receive some modest response.
Most likely, Bee, DRS and Piazza will find larger sales today.

I'm hoping the eleven noms give both DRS and TLITP big bumps! (relatively speaking, I'm not sure now much effect it has, but I'm sure some more people will give them a chnce now)
And all the plays Twelve Angry Men, Pillowman, Doubt and Glenngarry should see an upswing.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

All Shook Up and Chitty are awards and review proof. Shows like Brooklyn, Glass Menagerie and Little Women should all be very worried though. As for toughest ticket, if you're thinking Spamalot is a tough ticket anyway, then I guess Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will be busy today.....

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

I don't know that these nominations are going to really cause a panic for theatre tickets, but I expect you might see a slight bump for shows like PIAZZA, BEE, VIRGINIA WOOLF and DOUBT.

Typically, you do see some closing notices go up pretty immediately after the Tony noms are announced, but the shows that are sitting out the big awards -- ALL SHOOK UP, CHITTY, and even BROOKLYN seem to have alternative marketing tools in place to run through the summer.

The only real potential casualty of the Tonys that I forsee right now is LITTLE WOMEN.

Isn't 12 Angry Men closing in about 5 minutes anyway?

Yes twelve angry men has to pack up and out of AA theatre to make room for Roundabout's next show. The current production is going to pack up and head on tour and then open in London though. So it is far from over for that show.
