I have just started really getting into Broadway again and I am not sure what a west end show is. Can anyone tell me what this is? Thanks
West End theatres are London's equivalent to Broadway theatres.

Most of London's commercial theatres are located in an area of London called the West End ( it is also well known for commercial and retail businesses, the film and recording industry, etc.). One of its main roads is called Shaftesbury Avenue where many theatres are clustered together.

and there are also some shows on the strand (street) like STOMP (which i saw there ) and CHICAGO (which i saw there WITH BROOKE SHIELDS too)
i personally like broadway better, but i like stage dooring better in london: if brooke shields were in NYC doing CHICAGO, it would be a stage door "mob scene" (as brooke herself put it :) ) but there were literally only about 10 other people besides us there at the stage door which was very nice, and very personal with the actors. we were able to talk to brooke and she even told us if we saw her again in nyc we could have just asked for her manager, and we could have gone right up front to meet her (and possibly go backstage)...but we never went and saw her then
so yeah, that is my west end thought/wording/question mark for what it would be called

i live in london and am constantly in the west end seeing shows. i went to new york 2 weeks ago and did broadway and i can say broadway is a lot hotter than the west end right now. theres lots of crap overrun-its-time shows on there at the moment. we need a lot fo the old out and a lot of the new in. avenue q and wicked are opening next year for definate, spamalot is nearly definate, so it should be a lot better by next christmas.

well west end has its fair share of new shows. Billy elliot and mary poppins and woman in white were big.
What do you mean "on the street" Like they aren't considered West End? So they're not up for Oliver Awards? Is that the equivelent of off-bway?
