Broadway Matt, They had to stop the show mid act. 2 because someone had something wrong and they had to get the paramedics in the theatre and the rest of us evacuated.
It was a great show. They need to bring it to BWY so my friends can see it.

Posted: 11/1/06 at 1:51amWow! Was this as a result of the show? I've been in several theatres where the performance has been stopped for a medical emergency, but those were all incidental. But if there's one play that I could see causing all kinds of medical problems, it's that one. If they did it out here they'd probably need to have people sign waivers or at least post very clear warnings about it, like with roller coasters and haunted houses.

1) Woman in Black. My local theatre did it a few years back, and even though I personally knew the entire cast (all 3 of them), it still scared the hell out of me.
2) Sweeney Todd. Even if you're obsessed with the show and can practically quote the entire thing (like me), if it's staged properly with the right cast, it should scare the piss out of you. i've yet to see a production of it that didn't. (well... maybe one)
3) Cats. I was traumatized at a young age by this show (no joke) so maybe it's just me. The tour came through my town right around my 8th birthday, so my parents took me as a gift. I was sitting right on the aisle, and shortly after the overture started, I got the feeling I wasn't alone. I turned to my left and there was one of the scary cat people perched on my armrest staring at me. It scared me so bad I was screaming and crying and people around us were giving my parents dirty looks. We ended up leaving 10 minutes into the show, and to this day I haven't seen more of the show than that. And I don't plan to either.

THOU SHALT NOT
I thought I had died and was waiting out eternity in purgatory (Thou Shalt Not), as punishment for my lifes misdeeds. UTTERLY HORRIFYING!!!!

Posted: 11/1/06 at 5:05pmWait Until Dark and The Woman in Black are both scary for me. They also both feature scenes where the entire theater goes dark which is part of what makes it scary.

I would have done that too! Without the crying.
