First of all, I'm gay, and have never heard of Mary Cherry!!!

I was excited when I got tickets to Avenue Q this past March, but was somewhat disappointed. I didn't know what to expect, but I definitely didn't like it as much as I wanted to. I thought it was very clever, and the performances were good, but I think I was expecting it to be more than what it was.

I don't know Mary Cherry either, but I'm really bad at being gay, so it makes sense.

I'll settle the rest of this:

Avenue Q deserved Best Musical for its witty score, inventive book, innovative use of puppetry in a musical, and seamless production. There's not a weak moment in the show.

Avenue Q is not "edgy". It is politically incorrect, clever, and funny, but not "edgy".

Urinetown deserved to win Best Musical, but everyone really knows that.

Urinetown is better than Avenue Q both in book and score and should really be known as one of Broadway's milestone musicals. Though it somewhat lampoons other shows, it is truly one of the most original an inventive shows I have ever seen. It is also the single funniest show I've ever seen.

And that is the final word on the subject.

Ever.
