Our summer stock theatre is putting on '13' this summer and they want a student band. Does anyone know how tough the charts are? Do you think high school kids could play it? -
The band for the Broadway company consisted of all teenagers. I'd say it's doable. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's only about a six piece or so band.

im actually doing the show right now. it's orchestrated for 6 people. Key I/Conductor, Key II, Guitar I, Guitar II, Bass and Drums. Both guitar players require acoustic and electric guitars. I am playing key 1, and i am a teen myself. the only adults are our drummer and key 2 players. the music is farely simple, but get an adult to play and conduct key 1, and have a teen play key 2, haha. there are no chords in the P/C score, and there are no charts in the scores either. I would highly recommend getting proffesional teens that can really play, my pit is awesome, and there's not one weak link, it's also a lot of fun to do with a teen cast and teen pit, both onstage.
