What's with "Choose One"?

It's such a common theme on these boards, yet every time it's posted, EVERYONE states how hard it is.
Come to think of it, they do the same thing with "choose five"
And "choose ten". They have a lot of problems with that one.
WHAT'S WITH THE CHOOSING?? Isn't life full of enough choices without the forced discrimination of showtunes, actors, or any other preferences? Can't we just coast through without opinions?

3. "I love shrubs that are historical." -Johnny and The Sprites
4. "We're not singing it to you, we're singing it for us." -Rosario Dawson, about La Vie Boheme

6. "Pass the parcel. That's sometimes all you can do. Take it, feel it and pass it on. Not for me, not for you, but for someone, somewhere, one day. Pass it on, boys. That's the game I want you to learn. Pass it on." -The History Boys

Choose: Ian Somerhalder, or Josh Holloway?
You're so great Lael. Although, I think it depends on what it is I have to choose. And for the above question, I'd go with Ian. Sex god gallore. And he plays a beautiful gay boy in Rules Of Attraction (see this movie!!)
