"Soliloquy" from Carousel. One of the greatest theater songs ever written IMHO.

thetinymagic...this is a very strong song, and a great choice, I thought about. But, being more of a romantic, myself, I like the others
"this Nearly was Mine" is 2nd fave, if you can pull off those high notes and the ultra romanticism. Good luck!

I was cast as Emile in a recent production. I'm a bass, and a middle c in "This Nearly was Mine" isn't all that high. Plus, Emile isn't being romantic in this song. He's regretting the time he never had with the person he cared so much about and how he let her slip thru his fingers. Not really "ultra romantic"...It's still one of my favorite songs from the show.
'This Nearly Was Mine', and 'Lonely Room'. ^_^

Definitely Soliloquy and Younger Than Springtime.
I agree with "If I Loved You" and "Oh What a Beautiful Morning". They just don't write or perform them that way anymore.....

"Soliloquy" is my top choice
When done at a slower tempo, I like "Carefully Taught"
Lonely Room from Oklahoma
