I'm thrilled to be making the trek up to NYC right after Christmas this year. I get up there maybe 2x per year, usually.
Anyway, I think I'll have the opportunity to see 2-3 shows, and I'm at a loss for what to see. I've already seen Fiddler and Rent (twice), and I loved both, but I'd like to try something new.
Any suggestions? My tastes are more modern than classic (i.e., I love Rocky Horror, Rent, and... Dance of the Vampires... don't shoot me!).
Thanks everyone! Alexis (the Blasphemer for Liking DOTV)
If you are older then 13, I suggest Avenue Q. It is the funniest show with heart. Stephanie D'Abruzzo and John Tartaglia are the most talented people around. Have fun. Also see Forbidden Broadway. A fun, entertaining show for theater lovers. Some of my favorite picks.
If you want to have a great night out with lots of fun, color and great happy music, don't miss Hairspray !! I also think Wicked would be a good bet and I also second Avenue Q ! Have fun at the greatest city in the world !
I also loved Hairspray. I think everyone should see it. Now Wicked is another story. I did not love it, but I am the only one. I did love the sets, the costumes and the song POPULAR and For Good. I still to this day think Stephanie was robbed. She deserved that Tony!
