We are going to New York this month with 4 kids ages 15, 14, 14, and 10. The oldest would like to see She Loves Me. Is this something the youngest would like, and if not do you have any recommendations?

I think She Loves Me could keep your 10 yr old entertained, especially if they have been exposed to theater before. He/she may not understand some of the humor but, other than that, it's very well done and such a feel good and visually stunning show! If that doesn't work, School of Rock would be my next suggestion, very high energy and kid-friendly![]()

The shows targeted towards younger audiences right now are Aladdin, The Lion King, Matilda, Finding Neverland, and School of Rock.
There's nothing objectionable in Bright Star, The King and I, An American in Paris, and Something Rotten as far as I can remember but they might not be appealing for a 10 year old. You should be fine with She Loves Me.
Fun Home and The Color Purple are worth seeing but maybe not with the kids.

Definitely School of Rock. I accompanied 48 high school students to the show and they all LOVED it. They also enjoyed Something Rotten...but when asked which they would see again; they almost all agreed School of Rock. Additionally, it's not too mature for the 10 year old; especially since many of the young actors are the same age. I've seen Matilda with the same age group and it was also very well received...but not as well as School of Rock.

School of Rock was fantastic when I saw it this last week. Very fun, high energy show!
I would also vote for School of Rock or Matilda. I think She Loves Me might be stretching it a little for the 10 year old, but if he/she already knows and likes musicals, I think you'll be fine.
Wondering why your oldest wants to see that one? It's a very classic show with an old-school musical theater score. If that's what she's looking for he/she might not wanna see SoR or Matilda that both have a very modern, rocky score. If that were the case I might go for Finding Neverland. While also a modern pop-score it has more classic musical theater elements I think, and I really loved the show.
Just make sure you don't take them to see Paramour

The oldest is into theater and generally likes more classic stuff. The other 3 kids are somewhat familiar with some musicals. The older ones did see Fun Home our last trip and loved it. Thanks everyone for the help so far!
